How to push past discouragement.

I made it to 20,000 words in my first contemporary romance novel. Still only first draft but a problem I have is that I go over my chapters relentlessly and correct a lot. I know I need to just write and go back later but I can’t help it when I read over the chapters.

I have the entire storyline in my head. I have the ending mapped out. I have the scenes throughout pretty locked. My goal is 80,000 words. And maybe it’s because I’m a sahm with very little time to write. But I hit another block and now I feel so discouraged. I want to complete this so badly. And I feel like it’s so far out of reach.

Luckily I’ve been reading a lot and trying to get inspired. Any other advice to get out of a writing slump?

Haven't been able to find a dark romance book that really had me obsessing since The Ravenhood Series by Kate Stewart (Dom 😭😭)

But Kade Mitchell?!?!?!?!? Yeah I'm changed forever. Still have the next two books. If you haven't read these books yet please do and then come back to this thread so we can talk about them!! Chokehold level. And I've been dying for another series that can do that for me AND the next two books are a continuation of the same main characters, not a series where the main characters change but it's same world. I was getting so tired of those.

Kade is look at her and die level, he can't have her but no one else can either 😭 they're toxic and trauma bonded. obsessive love to the highest degree. Does it have some cringe moments? Absolutely. This is the dark romance I needed to get into another book binge!!

Any other similar books I should go for next?!
