Gameplay Updates (Thank you!)

Hey everyone!

Thank you so much for the feedback: I read all of it, and this update is basically your notes turned into changes.

A quick rundown of what's new:

  1. It's a little bit easier in the beginning. The zombies ease up just slightly, and the swarm takes a little longer to reach full chaos.
  2. Railgun buff, it fires a little faster now.
  3. Fixed the tree glitch. There was a bug causing players to get stuck by the tree clusters, that is now fixed.
  4. On the Today's Challenge reveal, the winners' names were covering the modifiers for longer usernames that's fixed, everything's readable now.

Would love for more feedback I’d love to keep building off of what you guys want the most! Thanks again!

Welcome to r/zomble!

Hey everyone! I'm Henry, the developer of The Daily Zomble, a one-control zombie survival game that lives inside a Reddit post.

Here's the whole game in five seconds: you point, your survivor runs that way and shoots by itself, survive as long as you can. That's it. Zombies pour in from every edge, the swarm keeps growing, and you stay alive as long as you can.

The Hook

Everyone plays the exact same run each day, beat the daily high score and you get to change one thing about tomorrow's game for everyone.

The first four players to top the score each day each lock in one setting for tomorrow: the weapon, the weather, which way your gun fires, or how much health you start with. Nobody sees the setup until it goes live, so every morning is a fresh surprise built by yesterday's winners.

How to get started

  • Play today's run: you get one leaderboard attempt each day.
  • Introduce yourself in the comments: tell us your high score, or just say hi.
  • Share your run: one tap posts your result right into the comments so we can all see where you landed.
  • Come back tomorrow: see what the winners changed and try to make tomorrow's twist yours.
  • Practice mode: mess around with different settings, it never touches the leaderboard.

Thanks for checking it out!

This was really fun to build and was for Reddit’s Games with a Hook hackathon. Thanks for taking a look and playing!

Best,

Henry
