Transcript Eval ??? Switching out

This is my first time taking a class at NU and I'm seriously thinking about switching to go back to community college.

I'm pre nursing so I'm finishing up pre req's, however NONE of my classes have been evaluated. Mind you, I was suppose to begin June except the site switched and no one called me for my $ aid appointment (that was scheduled) nor scheduled me for classes. After many calls & a whole month later... I finally got scheduled (literally less than 24 hrs before class) for my current class - an exception since they didn't evaluate my classes yet.

I'm 6 out of 8 weeks into my class. Haven't heard from anyone despite emails to advisors, head of the department, centrum in person front desk, etc about my transcripts or if i'm even scheduled for my next 2 sequenced classes. And I need them if I want to apply for cohort 89!

I'm seriously considering going back to community college to get my associates in biology instead. It's cheaper and at least they can get sh*t done.

Private ADN or Community? SOCAL

Hi all,

I've been going back and forth with what to do & would love your insight. I've decided to go back to school for Nursing. My current GPA pre req is 3.6 (pending stats. Could be a 3.8 after) and currently fulfilling my science pre req. The classes i've taken mostly were in 2018/2019. No teas/hesi score yet or prior healthcare experience.

All that said, I could finish pre reqs by end of this year or early spring. Which puts me at earliest Fall 2027 start date— IF I get into Community college ADN programs. My dilemma is whether or not I should try given my stats. I'm thinking of San Diego Grossmont + City College as my top colleges to apply to. And if all goes well once I get my phleb certif + experience, & finish science pre req with a 4.0 (hopefully lol). I could be around 91pts or high 80's. Do you think that's enough to get in to those competitive programs?

I'm also considering just going to American Career College ADN program in Ontario. It's asynchronous! I'd have to redo all course work, commute 45min - 1.5hrs 2-3x per week (possibly up to 5x per week for clinical), & the program is $92k (ouch. ikr) - BUUUT i'd be finished with ADN by mid 2028 instead since its a 20 month program. Day one is nursing school since their curriculum includes pre req in the schedule. That's why I'm considering it!

CC seems like I have to do xyz in order to get in with high chances i'd get waitlisted or rejected given other stats i've seen here. Which I'd want to avoid because I've seen many people wait years/rounds to possibly get in then end up going private school instead.

  1. Are my stats good enough to apply to CC adn program?
  2. Did you go private, do you regret it, & how is paying off your student loan?
  3. if you went to CC or ACC did you like it?

Thank you for taking time to read this lol.
