One month ago I shared a look at HubbyCal, my first ever TRMNL plugin.
After a lot of work, LOTS of messages with support (superstars), and lots of pain and tears, HubbyCal is finally here and public for everyone!

HubbyCal is your simple and clean daily dashboard that shows you your entire day in one place as well as:

• Weather Information
  • Current condition
  • High and Low
  • Weather Alerts
• Holidays and Birthdays
• Custom countdowns to a specific day
• A dedicated section to showing up to 2 work events
• Garbage and Recycling day reminders
• A customized reminder for a weekly reoccurring event
• Up to 12 events, personalized with
  • Custom Avatars
  • Colors (so much grey!)
• A dedicated "Spotlight" calendar section at the bottom where you can spotlight any kind of event you'd like. I use mine to show my dinner calendar but the possibilities are endless
• Days without events show a different quote and every refresh

(Designed around TRMNL X so some features like custom reminders and total event counts may differ on other devices)

HubbyCal is now live and ready to go for anyone interested in simplifying your day.

An iOS version is coming soon (full calendar app) so keep your eyes peeled.

First time plugin maker. I’m Graphic Designer with 20 years experience and a bit of experience with UI/UX. Never could code (too stupid) but I was able to spend the 3 day weekend building my first TRMNL Plugin. I call it HubbyCal.

I wanted to make a dashboard for me and my husband that shows our schedule for the day, the weather, and our dinner menu.

The plugin works by pulling from multiple calendars and placing the events here. So far I have:

• My personal calendar
• My work calendar
• My husband’s personal calendar
• My husband’s work calendar
• Our shared calendar (we always labeled it Hubbies, which is there the name for the plugin comes from)
• Our dinner calendar

Each calendar is displayed as an event with different shades of grey. At the right of each event block is an avatar representing me or my husband. (There is a switch that replaces the avatars with our names)

I didn’t want our Work or Dinner calendars to take space in the main event blocks. I have the plugin pulling the work events (usually just the hours we’re working) and placing them in a section above all the events.

The dinner calendar is pulled and placed in the dinner box always at the bottom.

Holidays and birthdays appear above the calendar date on the top.

I had it set up to also pull the current charge for my EV but pulled it since there were issues with the service I was using to get the data. Will need to rework that at a later date.

Overall I’m pretty proud of it. Hoping to add a Week and Month view and publish it publicly if there’s any interest.
