Famontide experiences/testimonials?

I see this one recommend a few times on raypeat forum and twitter and it is supposedly a very strong anti-serotonin agent but Google searches only show it being used for stomach problems and gas. Anyone here used this drug?

Sailing scenes in Wolfe books

If it's a Wolfe story you can expect among other things like sci-fi mythology and religion lots of sailing which I absolutely adore and can never get enough of. Currently reading Latro and I would have never guessed beforehand to see so many scenes set in water which are my favourite part of the series and rival even those of Pirate freedom. Which other novels contain your favourite nautical scenes Wolfe or other writers?

How cool and insane is the Aprilia RS-GP 26 ?

It has become somewhat of a trend to shit on the current generation of aero-rich bikes and I get some of the criticism but I don't think fans or media are celebrating the technology on current gen bikes enough especially the Aprilia RS-GP 26 with some of the best front end grip you will ever see in any Grand prix bike. The pole lap of Jorge Martin looked absolutely on rails. Ducati will go down as the king of this era but honestly the job Aprilia has done and the way their bike takes corners is a sight to behold. The lap records will continue to tumble!

What is the most underrated Gene Wolfe book?

BOTNS is a magnum opus and Latro is top tier historical fiction and his short stories are rightly regarded as some of the best constructed stories ever but what books of his were surprised by how good they are and how much you enjoyed them? For me Pirate freedom and The Land across are seriously underrated and some of the passages in them are as good as anything Wolfe has ever written.

How good are the Latro books?

Outside of solar cycle and The wizard knight, this is probably the most popular series by Gene Wolfe but outside of goodreads I have not seen much written or discussed about this series and surprisingly almost nothing on YouTube or Twitter. Where do you rank this work and would I need atleast a rudimentary knowledge of ancient Greece to enjoy this book?

Where do you rank Sachsenring as a circuit in the current grand prix calendar?

For me the best circuits are Silverstone Assen Portimao and Philip Island but I would say I rate Sachsenring very highly and it's a bit underrated among the fans. It's a real rider's circuit with many difficult corners. The waterfall turn is one of the most spectacular corners and real dangerous. On the safety side, I realise this track is very old school with limited run-offs and adjustments must be made but overall what a spectacular circuit

Should I add T4 to my T3 daily regimen?

I have few of the hypothyroid symptoms like body temperature never reaching above 97.5F degrees and difficulty waking up and getting to sleep but otherwise I feel good and healthy and never particularly feel cold. I have started taking 5mcg T3 with my afternoon meal and although my temps remain the same,I feel a few improvements in sleep and my mood. I should also mention that I had a thyroid test done and all markers suggested a good thyroid function except for the TSH value which hovered at 2.1 which I understand is not ideal. Would you suggest I add T4 as well to try to get my temperatures up and would it make a big difference?

How good are Wolfe's short Stories?

Having read BOTNS and standalone novels like Pirate freedom, The sorcerer's house and The Land across, I am in awe of Wolfe's writing and his ability to scope out a story full of layers and subtext sprinkled throughout. I have a copy of 'The knight ' lying around but thought maybe I should check out his short fiction first which are said to be of exquisite quality and so I bought 'The best of Gene Wolfe short stories and read 2-3 of them but the third person narrative and the lack of world-building(of course) is bugging me off and does not quite capture my imagination like his novels. What are your opinions of his short stories? Are some of them up there with his best works?

THE LAND ACROSS

I wanted to know if anybody here has read this book and their opinions of it and whether at all the mysteries in it are solvable, of which there are more than a dozen by the end. I felt this one reads very much like 'Pirate freedom' in style and the hero's journey undertaken by our protagonist. I don't think it is as good as 'Pirate freedom' and definitely the weakest of Wolfe I have read so far but still insanely readable and wildly entertaining. The best parts of the book are the surrealistic atmosphere and the supernatural elements of the book. The main storyline drags out quite a lot is the main negative of the book. Overall I liked it but probably won't be rereading this anytime soon.
