Ethereum's Glamsterdam upgrade is targeting H2 2026, first hard fork aimed at base layer throughput since the Merge. basically going after the actual bottleneck instead of layer-2 workarounds this time
Solana's Alpenglow is aiming for Q3, replacing part of current consensus with two new components (Votor and Rotor), goal is cutting finality time from around 12.8 seconds down to something like 150 milliseconds. also moving validator voting off-chain to reduce congestion
