For context, I live with my mum and all of my siblings (7 of us in total). A family friends cat has just had kittens and my mum is allowing me to get one as my first pet. However there are some rules that I need to follow like keeping him/her in my room only and that she doesn't want to pay for anything herself. I've been watching videos to try and prepare myself but I figured that asking people with a cat would give me more advice on what to do. Any suggestions or precautions I should take before they get here? My main issues are things like training, food, acclimation to a new area, safety, entertainment while im gone, adopting in pairs or not, etc. Any advice is greatly appreciated!
