The writing rules I wish someone had told me earlier
- You don’t have to force it.
If you want to write — write. If you can’t — step away.
- Sometimes it’s enough
to simply read what you’ve already written, to stay close to the story.
- If writing starts to feel tense — if you catch yourself getting frustrated or restless — stop.
Words pulled out by force don’t carry the same weight. They don’t feel like yours.
- You write because you love it.
Try not to turn it into something rigid, something that feels like obligation.
