Overripe or underripe?

Overripe or underripe?

First year growing watermelon, I read a bunch of info on when to pick. But I most likely should've asked this sub long ago. I saw things about tendrils going brown, aswell as waiting till stems turn brown and the vines came off the melon without any tools. I waited till the vines turned brown and I could break free the watermelon without cutting the stem. But this is how they turned out. The flavor is very minor and isn't very juicy at all. I'm disappointed TBH. I do have 1 more about this size that the tendrils dried up a month prior as well as a smaller one that just browned up 2 weeks ago.

Is this overripe? I'm not good with the thump test and my only tell that this is overripe was from the cracks that formed inside.

Cat just got diagnosed

I noticed my cat wasn't feeling well and she kept pawing at her mouth and kept acting like there was something in her teeth, along with her stopping eating kibble but will eat wet food. At the time I thought she was having dental pain. Nope, turns out CKD and a minor UTI. I feel awful. I think it's stage 3 based on the creatine amount (3.8) but I don't know, taking her back for an ultrasound Monday.

In the meantime I got prescribed antibiotics and special food from PetSmart. Looking at this food it looks like it'll be rather expensive long term so I'll be looking for alternatives. (Hills K/D or canin kidney support, wet food but I won't mind dry if she starts eating kibble again)

Anything I should get while I'm at the pet store. I see some people getting phosphate binders which I'll look for too.

What pest is eating my leaves?

Something has been munching on the leaves of my new plants. I think it was pillbugs so I put some potatoes out. I did get some but not a lot. 5 in total at this 1 plant. The other 3 traps I set out have nothing but they have similar damage to the leaves. Is it slugs?
