21/52 - The Spear Cuts Through Water by Simon Jimenez

Started this today, haven't put it down, about 200 pages in and I'm enthralled with the storytelling and original style.

Supps Mixology - Sakura Stone Fruit

Sakura splash and Ocean stone fruit equal parts in 16 oz w/ ice, God tier combo, adds a nice distinctly different sweet cherry and that little kick of sour from the Sakura. Beautiful pink/peach color too.

A Dance With Dragons - by George R. R. Martin

Been saving this for a while, but it's finally time to read it and put the series on the low hopes, to be completed series, shelf next to my Pat Rothfuss. I love both of their writing, but these fellas need an editor with a whip at this point if we expect to see Winds of Winter or Doors of Stone. Over a decade long waits for a conclusion to epic fantasy is beyond absurd. I love them, but I'm ready to forget they exist until they do something besides lift a leg and fart when they get up.

19/52 - Interview With The Vampire by Anne Rice

First re-read in a few years, my mother passed down the book, she loves Anne Rice and it was taught to me at an early age that Anne is the queen of the vampire literature. Vicky Schwab is the closest I've read since IMHO.

18/52 - Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt

Been really looking forward to this one, but saving it for what felt like the right time. Now feels like that time, and with the octopus being my favorite animal I have high hopes for this book ☺️

Update: Finished, couldn't put the thing down today. Read cover to cover in a single day. I adored this book, such a comfort food novel I know I'll come back to forever.

17/52 - Operation Bounce House by Matt Dinniman

I haven't read any DCC yet, but after my last read I needed something funny and silly (heavy stuff in my last book). A friend has been begging me to join the Dungeon Crawler club and read that series, but before I dive into that kind of commitment I figured this would give me a sense of if I like the humor and writing style. I hear he's very funny, and I'm definitely in the mood for laughs and fun.

16/52 - Hard Rain Falling by Don Carpenter

I see this one a lot online, and it has been screaming at me on the shelf for months, so I figured it's time. Excited for starting this one.

Second tub, Jojo Collab Ocean Stone Fruit

This one is super juicy and delicious, lots of flavor without at all being over sweet, tastes just like a ripe beach plum in drink form. Very refreshing on this hot day too, I'm gonna destroy this tub over the summer I know it. Might have to put in a restock order on this before July ends. For me, this goes right in S tier, solid 9-9.5/10.

14/52 - Queen of Shadows by Sarah J Mass

Been trying to piece meal this series, being that I bought the whole thing after Crown of Midnight. I have very high hopes for this one in particular, due to high praise from fans, though and have really put it off to make progress in the rest of my TBR list. I've also fallen a bit behind in my reading pace I was at a month ago, but something tells me this will be just the right book atm to get me going again.

First tub, finally made the switch from PeeFuel. Had to go with the ShyLily flavor first.

I also ordered the new Fleekazoid Waifu Nun Shaker, but I know that pre-order page just dropped and will be a while to ship, I read the shipping fine print lol.

13/52 Howling Dark by Christopher Ruocchio (Sun Eater Book 2)

Loved Empire of Silence so much, so far this story feels made for readers like me, who love a good space opera and the blend of Science/Fantasy. Book 1 reads to me like The Name of the Wind and Dune had a baby, and that baby grew up watching Guardians of the Galaxy and Thor Ragnarok. Maybe that's crazy, but it makes sense to me lol.

Not only is this first book absolutely phenomenal so far IMO. (And I hear it's the weakest in the series) These covers are stellar looking, and I love that the spines have a smaller cut out of the cover art. They look great on the shelf! So excited to continue my journey with Hadrian, as it's been a blast so far. Very much feels like Dune meets the Name of the Wind in tone and style. Reads more like Rothfuss in prose and style, but with the intergalactic setting, science, and politics similar to Herbert's Dune.
