Are all their mobile plans lies?

I’m seeing lots of supporting evidence and examples for the answer to the above being “yes”. In my case I called them to see what I could do about lowering my cable and internet bill. They fed me a bunch of lies and every person I talked to offered a completely different deal and never had the ability to offer the same thing the previous representative offered. Perhaps the most egregious of all lies was that when I finally worked out a deal that sounded good (which ended up not even being a real deal and we’ve been getting charged $15 or so more than I agreed to unless I canceled Netflix, which I was assured I would still have), I was told to be eligible for that deal I HAD to sign up for a mobile line. I was later told by another rep that this was not a real contingency for the cable plan and that no plans FORCE you to buy a mobile line. But the deal was nonetheless good in theory:

They offered $830 for my current phone trade in, which would be applied to my phone bill over the first 2 years, making the monthly bill $17 for the first year and $27 for the second. To get $17 for the first year each month included a $40 discount from that $830 trade in offer (of which I have email proof that I was given). $40 off the $57 monthly bill times 12 months equals $480, which means they still owe me $350 on my $830 offer. $350 equals $29 and change off per month in the 2nd year. $57 minus $29 and change equals roughly $27 dollars per month for the second year, exactly what I was told. Omg, you mean the math works?

But alas, I am now in the second year and have been getting charged the full $57 each month (two months went by before I noticed). I called to find out what was going on and they essentially said my bill was correct but they could redo my bill to save me $4 a month. Wow. $4. I told them nice try, but I’m already supposed to be saving $29 a month so no I’m not taking your measly $4 offer. I told them to check their call logs and they’ll hear me REPEATEDLY being told the second year would be $27 a month because I was wary about signing the deal so I kept making sure it was fully clear and understood by both sides. While they were checking the logs, I found my email showing they gave me $830 on my trade in yet the first year of billing proves they only gave me $480 of that so far, and finally the rep admitted the mistake and credited me back for the two months of overcharges and even offered to pay my full next months bill (of $27) to apologize.

Yet my expected bill still shows that the next charge is going to be for $57 and I can already tell I’m going to have to call AGAIN next month to fix that. So sick of dealing with companies like this.
