Sisters, i gave up

I don't want to be negative or sound pessimistic, but I just can't. I just don't have any hope for Sym. I genuinely believe that no one on the development team plays the character and that the developers are actively ignoring her.

It's been 11 months, and her victory pose in the gallery, her pose in the progression and her group lobby are still broken . Her highlight intro was busted for years. At this point, it's clear that none of these issues are going to be fixed. But hey, how about fixing the nails on the Anran Beach skin in a couple of weeks?

Not to mention the damage bug on the beam, which has also been in the game for years. This isn't a problem for Zarya and Moira. Why not look at it and implement part of that code for Sym? The devs have had time to rework the way the code works with Diva's mech, so they could easily create new MEKA heroes without the same bugs and problems.

I just don't understand it. Sym has been in a gutter for a long time. Her numbers are abysmal and her performance is even worse. She is the only character in the entire roster who didn't receive a single damage buff after the season 9 (that one with hitbox changes). She actually had her damage nerfed. Every single DPS received some sort of damage buff aafter that season or started way stronger than Sym. In fact, every character received a buff of some kind to keep up with the game, and she is the only one who has been hammered time and time again. The worst part is that everyone has known what the problem is for years. Yet there has been zero feedback or even acknowledgement of this problem from the developers. I don't count Aron Keller's "We're going to look at Symmetra" from last year, before they released another pack of nerfs in November. That didn't address any of her problems or make an impact in the pro scene. Yet it made the character significantly worse to play for everyone else.

Sombra was more playable and viable in normal games, and less toxic than Symmetra in the professional scene. Yet Sombra has been reworked again, making her the most reworked character in the game, despite having fewer problems than Sym. They even put her in the support role, which feels like a slap in the face.

And don't get me wrong, I'm not asking for a Sym rework. I understand that these things take time and resources. But her TP was such a big problem for years, and a simple, temporary solution has already been implemented in the game: Hovering Barrier. It uses the same ability slot. It shouldn't be hard to just remove the TP, adjust some numbers, and see how the character plays, without spending too much time on visuals and polish. The devs did it with Mercy, Reaper, LW and Phara.

None of the Sym problems are new. Nor are the solutions. Yet somehow we are getting lower and lower. Why?

Why is it still a problem after all this time?

Why is there no acknowledgement?

Why is there literally zero feedback from the developers?

Just why?

I'm lost. I'm hopeless and I don't believe in Sym's feature anymore... and i believed and still belive in Heroes of the Storm's comeback despite that game being on life support for years.

We have more active players before Evercold than we did in Endwalker before Dawntrail. (2 month difference)

Back in Endwalker, i was autistic enough to compare the numbers of active people on Steam and Mare. This was after 6.58 and six months before DT.

Old post:

https://www.reddit.com/r/ShitpostXIV/comments/1hjdlou/i_looked_at_the_number_of_players_currently_using/

Anyway, I've compared it to the current numbers. We are eight months before Evercold, but here are a couple of things:

1 - We'll have more patches and less waiting time between patches and 8.0 than between 6.58 and Dawntrail.

2 - Mare was showing data on all active users at the same time, while [unnamed thing i used] as far shows only EU. At least as I know, mostly an EU thing because NA are using their own system. Not to mention that there are more options than just [unnnamed thing i used] in the EU.

3 - I've been tracking the numbers for a couple of weeks, and while they vary from hour to hour and day to day, they are relatively consistent.
