I mean the hovering S Pen button press—when the S Pen is slightly above the screen. In apps like Samsung Notes and Notability, this lets you quickly switch/select pen tools. It would be great if your app could support the same feature, not just the eraser when the S Pen is touching the screen.

Samsung Notes vs StarNote — worth switching?

Has anyone here switched from Samsung Notes to StarNote?

Is there any real reason to use StarNote over Samsung Notes? I’m mainly curious about the writing experience — does the pen feel smoother, is the latency better, palm rejection better, etc.?

For those who’ve used both, which one do you actually prefer for everyday note-taking, and why?

Any tentative date for S Pen button gesture customization?

One feature I really miss in StarNote compared to Samsung Notes is the ability to customize gestures/actions using the S Pen button while writing.

I know the developer has already marked this as a high-priority feature, which is great. I was wondering if there’s any tentative timeline or rough ETA for when it might be available?

This is honestly the main feature I miss from Samsung Notes. If StarNote adds customizable S Pen button gestures, it would make the experience much closer to what I’m used to.

Would love to know if the developer can share any tentative date or update. Thanks!

Fountain Pen Makes Shape Strokes Too Thick

Hi everyone, I’m facing an issue in StarNote.

When I draw a shape using the Fountain Pen, the stroke becomes noticeably thicker after the shape is completed/recognized. However, the Ball Pen works fine and keeps the stroke thickness consistent.

I’ve attached a screen recording showing the issue.

Is this a bug with the Fountain Pen, or is there any setting I need to change to prevent the stroke from getting thicker?

Thanks!

Galaxy Tab + S Pen users, what pen are you guys using in StarNote? 👀

I’m trying to find a pen setup that feels really good for everyday handwriting, but there are so many options 😅

If you use StarNote on a Galaxy Tab with the S Pen, what’s your favourite pen + size/thickness?

Would love to try out your setups! ✍️

Please Add Multi-Window (Multiple Instances) Support

It would be great if StarNote supported multiple app instances ( also available on Samsung notes , notein , notability) , allowing users to open more than two StarNote windows at the same time. This would make it much easier to read and compare notes side by side, copy content between notes, and improve the overall study and note-taking experience. This feature would be especially useful for students who often need to refer to multiple notes while studying. I hope you'll consider adding it in a future update. Thank you!

StarNote PDF Bug: Added Pages Misalign and Pen Strokes Become Inconsistent

I noticed a few issues while using StarNote with PDFs. When I add a new page to the same PDF, the page becomes misaligned. If I zoom the added page to full screen, it shifts/jumps instead of staying in place. Also, the same pen uses different stroke thicknesses on different pages within the same document, even with the same pen settings. I regularly read and annotate PDFs in other note-taking apps, and I don't experience these issues there. The problem seems specific to StarNote. Please look into these bugs and fix them. Thank you.

Has anyone here used a metal nib with the S Pen? I've heard that metal nibs can damage or wear out the S Pen. Is that true? I'd really appreciate feedback from someone with actual experience using a metal nib.

StarNote Has More Features… So Why Am I Enjoying Free Notes More Sometimes?

I've been a StarNote Pro user for quite a while, and I genuinely like the app. It has a lot of advanced features that many note-taking apps don't offer.

Recently, I also started using Free Notes. Even though StarNote is more feature-rich, I noticed that for my daily workflow, Free Notes sometimes feels slightly more comfortable. I just wanted to share some constructive feedback—not to criticize the app, but because I'd love to see StarNote become even better.

Writing tools

I like how Free Notes separates the writing tools:

- Ballpoint Pen

- Fountain Pen

- Pencil

- Technical Pen

-

This makes it easier to choose the right tool for different situations.

Ballpoint Pen: I think both apps do a great job here.

Fountain Pen & Pencil: In StarNote, these don't feel very practical for me. Even with pressure sensitivity set to 0%, I still have to apply much more pressure than expected, so I rarely end up using them. I think these tools could be optimized to feel more natural.

Also, StarNote doesn't currently have a Technical Pen, which I personally find useful.

Color selection

One small thing I really like in Free Notes is that a single pen can have multiple preset colors ready to switch between. In StarNote, the color presets feel a bit more limited (currently up to 5), so switching colors isn't quite as convenient.

Switching between notes

I often solve questions from an e-book while writing answers in another notebook, so I switch between two notes very frequently.

In Free Notes, switching feels almost instant. In StarNote, I sometimes notice the opening animation and a slight delay, which makes repeated switching feel a bit slower. It would be great if this workflow could be optimized.

Features I'm excited about

I know some features are already planned for StarNote, such as:

- Real-time beautification

- Sync

- collapsible sticky notes

I'm looking forward to these updates.

What I love about StarNote

There are many things that StarNote already does really well:

- Link Notes

- Multi-finger gestures

- Excerpt

- Scribble to erase

- Tables

- Page margin adjustment

- And many more advanced features.

Overall, I still think StarNote is the more powerful app. My only suggestion is that alongside adding advanced features, it would be great to continue refining the core writing experience—especially the Fountain Pen, Pencil, color presets, and faster document switching.

This is just my personal experience as a Pro user, and I mean it as constructive feedback. I'm curious to know what the community thinks.

Do you agree with any of these points? Is there anything you think I'm overlooking? Let's discuss.

Please remove the note Bar switching delay

I frequently switch between a PDF and notes while solving questions. The current animation makes switching feel a bit slow. If you fix the delay/ animation . This would be make note switching feel much faster and smoother .

This is a small thing, but it makes switching between notes feel slow—especially when solving questions alongside a PDF. Minor improvements like this can make the app feel much faster and greatly improve the overall user experience.

Restore Page Layout / Arrangement

One feature I'd really love to see in StarNote is a "Restore Page Layout" option.

Sometimes I accidentally move or resize elements on a page, and after making a few more edits, the Undo history is no longer useful. At that point, there's no easy way to restore the page to its previous arrangement.

Apps like Samsung Notes make it much easier to recover from accidental layout changes. It would be great if StarNote could add a feature that lets users restore the last saved page layout or reset the arrangement without losing the actual content.

This would save a lot of time and prevent frustration, especially when working on detailed notes.

I hope the developers consider adding this in a future update. Thanks!

Hello, StarNote team. Could you please let me know when the cloud sync feature will be available? You mentioned earlier that it would be released in June, but June has already passed.

Is anyone else noticing that the pencil and fountain pen pressure sensitivity in StarNote isn't properly optimized? It doesn't feel as good as Samsung Notes.
