Do these birch doors look acceptable to you?

We had a drought last year and my golden globe cedars were very much affected.  These are/were a focal point of our front landscape.  Wondering if these will recover or any tips that I can do to help.  Also, if they must be removed down the road, what could be a good replacement shrub/evergreen that would quickly fill in the space.
