Help with cabinet hinge

One of my kitchen cabinet door hinges has broken. I am unsure of the best method to repair this. I am able to slide the metal piece attached to the door back into the piece attached to the cabinet, but I can tell it’s definitely not supposed to be like that because my other cabinets don’t come apart. Does anyone have any suggestions? Or know the style of hinge this is? I’ve tried googling it, but I’m even more confused now than when I started.

Thanks!

I was told I don’t belong in r/beginnerwoodworking

There was a mix of people saying "good work", "don't believe you first started buying woodworking tools 4 months ago", and "your design sucks". Context that mattered to others in that thread: I'm a machinist so.125, .0625,.031 is a quarter mile in my world. This was a first for me. And my second furniture project. The coffee bar is 42inches tall as I'm tall.
Give me your feedback.
Additional details: you may not like the two upper right drawer faces. They were only 5in tall so 5 piece construction didn't seem right to me. The upper stiles are like that because I had to avoid window treatment and wanted symmetry.

Edge banding

What’s the best way to trim the edge banding? I’ve been using a 13” blade from a dewalt planer and laying it flat and pulling it across the board. It still gouges in sometimes. Those blue squeeze trimmers seem to suck. Anyone know any tricks to get it nice?

What’s wrong with our cabinets? Is this moisture damage or mold?

This is inside most of our kitchen and bathroom cabinets. No musty odor… no fuzzy growth. We just moved in.

I’m having bad allergies since moving here. Thoughts?

It’s kind of a blue-ish color in person

Question about drawer box with blum movento slides

I grabbed this photo from a video online about building boxes for the blum movento slides. Per specs you can only use 1/2 - 5/8 inch material. Where I’m located I can’t get 5/8 at the local store so am going to use 1/2 inch.

I have a lot of 3/4 left over material and wondering if I could use the 3/4 inch material for the front and back of the box. From my understanding the 1/2-5/8 material requirements is to fit in the space between the slides.

Unless I’m forgetting something, I should be able to use 1/2 material for the side pieces, and then 3/4 inch material for the front and back of the drawer box.

Cabinets package

I have a cnc machine that we use to cut cabinets for contractors. We deliver assembled. Some cabinets shops around was asking us to resell our cabinets in their stores. But I didn’t find a specific machine that can help me packaging the cabinets disassembled. I’m looking for machines that can help me with that.

Custom matched door

What would you guys charge to make this door? We hand made the door to match a kitchen. The door is red oak and we matched the stain and clear coated the door. The door with the hardware is the original and the others the door we made. I just want an idea of what others would charge.

Looking for a supplier of Baltic birch drawer box sides / full-length blanks.

I manufacture drawer boxes using 1/2” UV-finished Baltic birch with a bullnose and UV-coated edge. I’m looking for a supplier that can provide 60mm drawer side blanks in full 5’ lengths, pallet quantities, shipped via LTL.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Paint finish on face frame connections

Just wondering if I’m being too picky with our shop painter about these cracks where the face frame joints meet. Has anyone else dealt with this issue, and if so, how did you fix it?

We use Titebond II to glue our face frames together along with two pocket holes on the back of each joint. Before paint, we also fill every seam and nail hole with bondo. We’ve tried a bunch of different fillers over time, but the results always seem to come back the same.

Sliding saw blade

Looking for a recommendation on blades for our sliding saw 12”. Currently we use a mix Diablo blades from Home Depot and no name branded blades from our blade sharpening guy. My question is are there better blades that I could order online? The Diablo blades don’t chip but don’t tend to last as long and the no name blades chip the back of the material like crazy. We mainly cut 19mm birch ply and mdf core finish material so a blade recommendations for both types would be nice.

Mystery Side Bolts

The mirrored jewelry cabinet I'm hanging has bolt holes on the sides. They appear to be weight bearing, and there's no cleat on the back for additional support. As the cabinet has a side lock, it is not meant to be recessed. What hardware should I use to secure this?

Cut-out handles: more pros or more cons?

I’ve seen pens like this online, but I’m curious to hear from people with real-world experience whether these pens are more of a pro or a con.

I tried rendering one, it looks nice and neat, and I kind of want one, but I’m still skeptical.

Looking to pay a cabinet maker to mentor my first build (remote ok)

Hey all, hoping it’s ok to make this kind of post. If not I can take it down.

I have lots of home reno experience (from past primaries), full shop of tools, but zero cabinet builds under my belt. Eventually I want to tackle my own kitchen (cabinets, range hood, the works), but I’m starting smaller with an unfinished laundry room: a hall tree, cabinets around the sink, and a surround for a stacked washer/dryer.

Looking to pay an experienced cabinet maker to mentor me through it. FaceTime/Zoom for layout and design, help on my cut list before I start cutting, and someone I can text photos and videos to when I get stuck.

I’ll do all the work myself, I just want an experienced pro in my corner so I’m not learning every beginner mistake the hard way.

Fully remote is fine, local works if you happen to be around the Outer Banks, NC. Open to whatever rate structure works for you (hourly, per project, retainer, etc.). If it goes well on the laundry room I’d love to keep going through the kitchen.

DM me if you’re interested and tell me a bit about your work. Thanks.

Baltic birch vs melamine for laundry room

Is Baltic birch plywood overkill for a laundry room? This custom shop offers boxes made of baltic birch or melamine as a more budget option. I have 2 small kids and I feel like the laundry room is going to take a beating. I basically want to go with the option that will stand the test of time… but don’t want to spend money unnecessarily. Thank you for your advice!

First custom closet

I put about 50 hours into this project. I’m really damn proud of myself. I’ve never built a closet, drawers, or a cabinet before. This used to be an old metal closet. I cut out the walls and added a foot on each side. I learned so much through the process.
My woodworking journey is just beginning! All it needs is some handles and coat hooks!

How to edgeband/veneer 45 degree finger pulls?

Edge bander question

Does anyone here have the temperature controller on their edge bander? NGE-5000

What settings are you using, if so?

Edit: I should have elaborated more! I meant the advanced settings like Al1, P, I, d, AR, T, etc.

If you hold the set button for four seconds, these options show up.

Our hot melt glue suggests 190c, and that's what I have it set to.

One of our employees accidentally changed the settings that it had when it was installed, and I'm trying to get it back to operation

Is it weird to do black melamine drawer boxes?

I'm struggling to decide what material we want to make our drawer boxes out of. Almost all the examples I see are light colored wood, or white melamine. Our kitchen will have dark guanacaste cabinet fronts (like a walnut color) and dark grey soapstone tile...seems like it would look weird to do a very light cabinet interior? Or am I overthinking this....

(Note: We don't want to do solid wood boxes because we live in an area with extremely high humidity so I worry about it warping and ruining our undermount slides.) Our options are waterproof melamine or plywood. They have dark wood-look melamine but it seems like it would clash next to the natural wood. What is typically done here?
