I Designed a Transitional Passport for a Unified Korea Scenario
Concept design for a temporary travel document that could hypothetically be issued to residents of former North Korean territories during a post-reunification transition period.
In this scenario, Korea is legally unified under the Republic of Korea, but the northern region is temporarily administered as a special interim administrative zone before full social, legal, and economic integration.
Instead of immediately issuing standard ROK passports to all residents, the government introduces a limited-validity “Travel Certificate” for identity verification, overseas travel control, and phased citizenship normalization.
Holders are recognized as nationals of the Republic of Korea, but visa-free access and travel privileges may differ from standard Korean passport holders during the transitional period.
Completely fictional concept art made for alternate history / geopolitical worldbuilding purposes.
