Hey everyone!

I’m new to this sub, and I’d like to give it a shot. I need some perspectives on how to go about writing a character for a project I’m tinkering with.

The character is a young woman (18-21) who’s suffering an affliction that has led her single mother to shelter her from the outside world. However, I want to liken this affliction to an almost second puberty for the character, and as a man who hasn’t experienced what puberty was like for a girl, I feel as I’m a little ill equipped to talk about that and the other subject I mentioned.

I’m hoping to get some insight on where to start, some things to address, and things to avoid in my writing.
