How well would you receive a novel which focused on the male power fantasy in general as opposed to the specific tropes that are ubiquitous in current harem fantasy?
I've found, while reading the books posted by other people on this sub, or from KU in general, that the focus is on the harem and the constant addition of more harem members. Which is obvious, given the genre, so I'm not surprised.
My point is: I believe the interest in harems in general stems from a fascination with the male power fantasy, defined broadly. That is why a lot of harem fantasy novels are also progression fantasies of some persuasion.
To that end, I've begun drafting a proof of concept of this, but I'm interested, before the completion of that project, what y'all's opinion on this is.
