So according to some insiders, the Prince Estate and Sony are likely to announce a new Prince vault album called Decades. It’s very likely this new vault album will feature vault music from different eras of Prince’s career. We don’t know what vault tracks will be on it but we do know the song With This Tear is one of the tracks that will be on this new vault album. It’s also very likely that most of the vault tracks on Decades will be newly mixed cause according to the insiders, we’re never gonna get Prince’s original mixes of how exactly he left them in the vault so right now the only people who have Prince’s original mixes are the estate and insiders. Everything will be updated to fit today’s music of how music is mixed and mastered nowadays and I’m afraid this is what the estate will do going forward. Anyway keep an eye out for an announcement possibly around Celebration.

I’m seeing discussions online about Chris Brown and Drake about how they’re releasing too much music and people are not really enjoying it. Chris Brown dropped a 27 track album and Drake dropped 3 albums on the same day. Even though their albums are critically negative, can you imagine Prince dropping music in these times? He could drop whatever he wanted and not get stopped by the majors. So much music already gets released these days thanks to streaming. Artists these days can release as much music whenever they want.
