Which Prince song do you think he should have avoided putting on an album? Strictly 80s albums.

This is probably unpopular but I think 'Take Me With U' shouldn't have ended up on Purple Rain. It should have ended up on Apollonia 6.

What’s wrong With Turning It Off?

I really enjoyed Price’s music… also his public support of defending copyright and autonomy of the work of musicians.

I also enjoyed it when he was speaking about the nature of reality.
So much wisdom truly.

Why did Prince spell certain words differently?

He would famously spell "you" as "u". But it wasn't just for shortening, as he spelt "I" as "eye". So what was the reasoning behind it?

Alphabet St.

the ''no !'' at the start of ''Alphabet St.'' reminds me of this guy in ''zelda wind waker'' 😭 i'm crying, it's not the only song too, but i can't remember the other one, just this one is the one i think about every time, this is so funny, like every time this song plays i keep seeing that merchant guy when he says hi (i think ? or is it when you go without buying anything, i don't remember) anyways this is so funny

something in the water they drink (don't compute)

i just heard the song, now i'm a new prince fan so i don't know a lot of his songs except a few i heard when i was like 6 in my dad's car but yeah i have a huge hyperfixation now and i added his whole discography, y'all know the drill, and i just heard ''something in the water'' and the god damn instrumental keeps reminding me of something, and also, i'm french so idk if it's ''chair de poule'' (which is a horror boon series and i'm pretty sure also a series maybe on yt or smg, idk if there's an equivalent in english either and i'm legit too lazy to search right now) but it's clawing at my brain, i'm going crazy trying to find what this instrumental reminds me off of help

Edit: don't mind me writing ''something in the water they drink'' instead of ''something in the water'' i was tired okay, it was 2 am when i wrote this and i was listening to joy of repetition while trying to remember the song in my head, it didn't go well as you can see 😭

The Resurrection of Funk

Don't get me wrong, there's a couple of OK songs on this album, but anyone else having a hard time getting into this?

Anyone know what determines which album gets the deluxe threatment next?

Just curious why certain albums get the deluxe treatment before others…

Anniversaries make sense, sales too (most popular albums get love first)

I’m just hungry for remastered deluxe editions of the first two albums!

Had to Take a Photo of This and You Know Why! 😆

On my daily walk in Brooklyn, NY, and wound up in the Williamsburg section of the borough and came across this unique address sign and you know what I thought of immediately. 😅

A Selection of Less Common Photos

Beginning with Andre and Prince.

And ending with a now deleted QL post. (Yall know how he aggravates me, and this is an illustration of how close he was NOT and damn well knows it, though he holds forth differently today.) That's not really the point, but since I had it, here it is.

an artist like prince

I tend to get curious about the singers I listen to when it comes to the meaning behind their songs and what their personal life was like however I choose to place that boundary and not overstep my knowledge of that person's life bc it straight up feels like an invasion of privacy so I don't believe anything unless they themselves have said smth in an interview, I think it helps form a respect for that artist rather than smth parasocial which is what I see a lot of people have nowadays. I really wanted to discuss this with others but I admire prince in the way that he kept his life private. It seems like he always thought ahead, it's a reason why I don't think there will be a biopic on him, I feel like he made an autobiography (kinda) of his life already so that his story wouldn't be manipulated after his death. he knew how much to say for his own defense but didn't make himself a target. It kind of helped him balance fame and privacy although we learn that he was quite alone a lot. I think the boundaries he had limited his access to the world but I think it very much prevented the quantity of scrutiny he could have faced as a result of trying to be more involved. That sort of professionality I genuinely look up to. what do u guys think

Just finished Album #15 going through Prince's discography and I think I'm starting to not trust the songs with a family member as the title.

First Instrumental/Beat you hear in your head when you see this album cover?

I hear Player (if you know you know)

but also from the album I’d say Sweet Baby or the climax of And God Created Woman. Yours?

What Prince song makes you jealous that you didn’t write it?

For me that song is Raspberry Beret.

It’s not even my favourite song of his, yet it’s so simple, so catchy, so timeless.
