I don’t know if I will watch the next series
ETA: I made this post before the allegations came to light and there was some doubt in my mind about continuing to watch. Having just watched Panorama has confirmed that I will absolutely not watch MAFS going forward (if there is indeed another series). I hope the women featured are able to receive some form of justice
Mel was the heart of the series for me and brought such a warmth to the show. Her advice was always so kind, considered and enlightening, but she also wasn’t afraid to call people to account when needed. I loved how feminist she was in her approach, and the fierce and fun fashion she brought to the show. She will be genuinely so missed and I can’t really imagine the show without her tbh.
Alongside this I just didn’t enjoy this year’s series that much - it felt miserable and meanspirited, very similar in vibe to the Holly and Polly UK series but without as many fun characters imo. It‘s the only AU series I haven’t really enjoyed. Maybe it’s just past its peak as a concept? Idk
