4th/5th choir repertoire recs?

I’m a third-year general music teacher starting in a new district, and this is my first time leading an extracurricular choir. My endorsement is K-12 general/band/choir, and my undergrad track area was choir, but the curriculum was weighted heavily toward secondary and us lowly elementary specialists didn’t get a ton of guidance.

I’m not even entirely sure what the expectations are yet (auditioned or not, how many parts, etc) but it’s probably safe to pick a reasonably simple two-part arrangement to kick things off in a couple weeks.

If you’ve got any favorite SA pieces, or know of good places to find them, I would appreciate it greatly. Bonus points if the accompaniment is similarly simple because ya girl can only sort of play piano.

Lost Palms trail in Joshua Tree NP

Was it advisable to do a 7.4-mile desert run in the peak heat of a late spring day? Maybe not, but it was a now-or-never situation and I didn’t want to miss my chance to see the oasis. A 3L bladder, an abundance of sunscreen, and a persistent cool breeze saved the day. I also learned, perhaps unsurprisingly, that I prefer the packed dirt of my usual PNW forest trails to running on hot loose sand. Still, it felt good to get a little out of my comfort zone.

Highly recommend the trail for the beautiful desolate landscape and the payoff at the end, although maybe go in the morning/evening if circumstance allows.
