Maybe I’ve been coping for so long now, it’s hard not to. Here’s a list of things I’ve compiled. Most of these are not mine, but a sum of what I’ve learned.

1. ⁠Pantalone’s scale was not even. Dottore has done so much for Pantalone than he has done for him. Dottore has replaced his lung, saved him and has been keeping him alive since. Dottore’s reason for not coming back was that after he died, there would be no one to put his soul in a body. Plus, there was actually a translation issue, Dottore didn’t say it was impossible for another clone to be made, it just couldn’t exist simultaneously since there isn’t enough soul left for two hosts. Dottore talked about using Pantalone’s memory of him, mixed with his soul. This really works since Pantalone has seen all his segments, the one created from it will whole, not just the most selfish him, or the most cautious him, all of him.
2. ⁠With irminsul gone, people are not as bound by fate. We can pick up Dottore’s memory fragments from his new boss. This means they are not with the rest of him. This means if Dottore does come back he won’t be bound as a heretic or the memories of his past. This really leaves a clean slate.
3. ⁠Dottore really meant it when he said goodbye. But this is because he didn’t account for this outcome. Dottore really doesn’t trust people, he can’t even trust himself. He didn’t calculate for Pantalone to carry on the experiment. To him, it was an impossible outcome. Thus not considered.
