Help! Topped off yellow coolant with orange. How bad is it?
Help!! I was so proud to FINALLY be learning about car maintenance as a single lady. It felt great to be learning how to care for my car. I bought a 2015 Ford Interceptor (police version of Ford Explorer). Checked the coolant reservoir. It was below the minium mark. Carefully researched correct coolant in the Ford manual (orange). Noticed the coolant in the reservoir looked yellow and dirty. I found it implausible that the prior owner (police force) would put in wrong coolant, so decided the orange must have faded. Bought orange coolant as recommended and topped off in reservoir. Now the color has turned green!! I had already scheduled a coolant flush for this Friday because I thought the coolant looked dirty. Now I think I really need it because I messed up. I have to drive 3 hours tomorrow to a doctor's appointment. Please tell me this isn't as bad as I fear!!!
