Continuing my for-fun series of painting characters from the Dresden Files as I make my way through my series re-read. Loved the process of painting my imagining of the man, the myth, the criminal legend, the freeholding Lord and Baron of Chicago, John Marcone.

Continuing my "young adult series following Maggie Jr around" hyperfixation. Was talking to a friend and we were both like, "It's a bummer she doesn't get a Marcone-frenemy of her own, though," and then I was like, "You know, Harry walked in on Helen and John together earlier in the series...it's not totally impossible if she had a kid from it..."

Then we looked at each other for a long second and then I scrambled for my art tablet.

Marcone / Harry frenemy relationship so strong it's a generational on-sight type thing. Maggie being just like her papa and waxing on for half a page about this random guy's dollar-bill colored eyes.

Art by me, done in Procreate. If I ever say "I'll draw a comic page again," just kill me please, it would be kinder.

Look and design of Marcone Jr (Beckitt Jr?) inspired by this description of younger John from the books:

And he was skinnier. Not a lot skinnier or anything, but it surprised me how much younger it and the other minor changes made him look.

[Art by me] Taking a quick break from my character portraits while I re-read the series to indulge in imagining Maggie as a teenager and young adult, getting into her own misadventures alongside Mouse and Harry “Hank” Carpenter—who I'm choosing to believe will be the next wielder of Amoracchius just because I think it would be fun lol.

There are so many possibilities for her future. Will she develop magic (I feel like it's been hinted at heavily that she will)? If she does, how talented will she be? Who does she butt heads with? How does her personality evolve as she grows up?

A series following her would be so much fun.
