I finished the available content minus the farms. I left that for last as my little end game mission to unlock those, gather the bacteria (by carefully saving before breaking each one) and then head back to the shallows to build my final fully optimized home base.

Realized after crafting four farms that I needed another bacterium for the fifth. Not even using my brain I deconstructed one to get the bacterium back as a mining seed (no dummy it refunds the used mats not the base mats) but also it did not refund the bacteria.

It auto saved. Very mad at myself for rushing without thinking. Otherwise had a great experience and can’t wait for more.

So obviously there's nothing in there right now but there's probably going to be something at some ponint.

But whenever this something is added, I really hope that they rework the very first cinematic and add a big monster visual in the dark when going down with the ship. Right before going back up with the thrusters and escaping it. Simply to tease the moment you have to get back in there and confront whatever is down there

Not gonna lie, didnt finish subnautica (..yet) because it gives me the creeps. How is this one in regards to subnautica? Is there more armor? Or ways to make light e.g. lights beams or something?

I have an idea… Does anyone know if I take a fish, or hundreds… from one biome to another, will they despawn? Migrate back to their natural biome?

I will be moving hundred of Flash Slugs from the Power Plant, and relocating them to my base at the bottom of the pit 😂😂 Before I embark on this journey, I was curious if fish despawn when transplanted to another location.

They're not. This is a developer clarification on the matter from the official discord. They are the Axum.

Just finished the early access Subnautica 2 storyline. I love that the game gives us an eerie message about the location of the planet Proteus and it being an insane 20,000 light years away from Earth. However, the PDA message about this mentions a galactic map with a "blue circle" to indicate human's astronomical reach and a "red point" to indicate the location of Proteus. Unfortunately, it seems like no such in-game map yet exists.

I also have tried googling for such a map and I even searched this very subreddit, but have yet to find even a fan-made one, let alone one from Unknown Worlds. Tbh, I can already imagine in my head what such a map might look like, and there probably wouldn't be much to it (picture a photographic rendering of the milky way, but with a small blue circle somewhere along the outskirts and a small red dot somewhere near the center). That said, I think it would have been really cool if when presented with the PDA entry that eludes to a galaxy map, that there actually was one.

With everything we know about reprints, and that NoA can just reprint you back to what is essentially factory settings (with some caveats), I'm starting to believe that we have been here much longer than we are told. Considering our first experience in game is hearing "body print complete", NoA tells us about our interactions with the other survivors, we know NoA reprinted Zip back to her first time on planet, and that the last Blackbox was active over 30 years ago is the only reference for time passing that we are given, it is my belief that we have been stranded on Proteus for much much longer than is assumed.

Because Gene mutations and reprinting are the basis of the game, I believe it is possible we are being reprinted by a NoA that was purposely sunk to a depth that would make it hard to retrieve without gene mutations to adapt you to the pressure. A gene mutation that is also coincidentally sunk with the NoA.

I have a few thoughts on why, but without further audio logs from other survivors or more information about our own characters pervious interactions with them it will be hard to tell. I've also seen some leaked audio logs that would insinuate that the player was among the first survivors printed when the Cicada crashed, but I take those all with a grain of salt right now.

That all said the interior of the observatory is being described as undisturbed for two centuries, and it mentions that the "trees", not singular tree, are dying. So there is a whole lot there clearly unknown at the time. To me it's all pointing at the time frame we are given by NoA being a lie.

What do i do? when i tried ubdate my drivers it didnt want to work, when i ubdated everything it wanted nothing happened, or i think (im windows 11) i have intel(r) and stuff, can someone please help me?

I’m unsure if anybody else noticed this, or has seen this happen, but I promise you I’m not lying!! I wish I took a photo to prove it.

I had just walked into my base and it had full power, however when I walked into the room containing the now node, his light was red. He fully tracked me me walking around as he normally does and when I interacted with him he turned back to blue.

I’ve heard nobody experiencing this aside from Me, so it could’ve been a glitch. But I think he know we’re figuring things out. And he’s playing games w us.
