Protective equipment such as plate carriers(that exist to carry plates of ceramic composite its not a weapon) and a ops core helmet as fucking "militarization". Anything that looks like something a soldier would wear is militarization...protective equipment is militarization. The only and ONLY thing that's "militarized" about these SWAT officers is their weapon systems that being a M4 and some glock. The best "militarization" they get is CS gas grenade(cannot kill you) and flashbangs. If they are militarized the police would have gunships missle launchers tanks IFVs and APCs all armed, and they have NONE OF that. Every time some liberal Democrat voting autistic cries "the police has tanks" my educated ass has to see for myself and what is it? Is it a tank? No is it a IFV no? It's a bear cat. A demilitarized bearcat at that or some other APC with no guns literally nothing but storage for officers and some armor plating(other than that it's an armored truck and nothing else).
