Treatment options question

I was diagnosed with Hypertrophic CM several months ago but seemed asymptomatic. I went on vacation to visit family this summer and they quickly noticed that I would tire easily, get short of breath and become dizzy after even mild physical activity.

My cardiologist says it is the hypertrophy and suggested Camzyos. I just found out my copay would be $1400/month. There is no way I can afford that. I’m going to make an appointment with my cardiologist (conversation has been via web portal so far) to discuss treatment options.

I was hoping to learn what works well for others so I can go into the appointment somewhat informed.

Symptoms controlled but side effects of meds bothering those around me

Sorry this is long, I’m in a rambling sort of mood.

So, my bipolar symptoms are much better controlled than they ever have been. I was happy with that. I recently took an extended trip to visit family and they were alarmed by my condition. I tire out easily, talk on my sleep, zoom out on conversations, have trouble remembering things, can only talk for short periods of time before getting overwhelmed, I’m slow to process things and I’m constantly twitching my leg. Plus some breathing issues.

Family insisted I see my doctor, so I made an appointment the day after I got home. The breathing issues aside, the doctor said he had noticed the other symptoms in me for a while now. He said they could be early symptoms of Parkinson’s (my mom had Parkinson’s) but he doesn’t think I have it (huge breath of relief). He thinks it’s side effects of my meds. He lowered the dose of my muscle relaxers and neuropathy medications but said the main cause was probably my psych meds. That it may just be something I have to live with.

So, I’m going to see my psych in two weeks. I was wondering if these are symptoms others here are dealing with and if you have any coping strategies. My family are concerned I need daily care. I feel bad for worrying them but my psych meds are a must have if I want to function on a daily basis. Help, I feel so alone with this.

What is a good book to read?

My teenage granddaughter has unconfirmed endometriosis. All the signs are there but the doctors are working on ruling out other conditions. I went through endometriosis but it’s decades ago and I’m sure things have changed and advanced. I’ll looking for a good book for her to read that will make her feel more understood and less alone, as well as educate her on what her options are.

Why can’t I remember stuff

I know I’m on four meds for my bipolar but I can’t remember the names of them. I can remember two or three of my other meds but not most of them. I have to look up words I read on here or words I want to use because I’m not sure I understand them - even for things I’ve been diagnosed with. Reading is harder and sometimes I have to read the same page over and over. My concentration bites and I have to write everything down and set reminders or I forget. I get confused between words. For example schizophrenic, psychotic, psychosis. It’s much harder to hold a conversation. I mostly just listen and add in the occasional oh, yeah, wow and uh huh.
