My Take on what an Imp/Red Plane DLC would be like: Crimson Incursion (with Full Soundtrack!)
This has been a fun thing I've been thinking about on the side for this past year. I love this game if it wasn't obvious, and even though I have no ability to bring any of this to life except music I wanted to at least put it down somewhere, so I put together this little booklet on what it would include. Here's some of the key features.
- Incursive Items: In addition to a couple of normal items added, incursive items are obtained by opening Imp Urns through sacrificing some defense, and each have prerequisites that must be met in order to enter the drop pool, such as having a certain item or type of survivor skill. Because of this, they inherently synergize with other items, being guaranteed to assist you while costing a bit of defense.
- 2 New Survivors: The Usurper and Troubleshooter. Featured on the album cover, they both would drastically change how one interacts with skills, with the Usurper using a resource pool to charge skills instead of recharge times, and the Troubleshooter needing to salvage his secondary and special skills from spots on the stage, but being able to swap them out mid-run in exchange.
- New Stages and Hidden Realms: There would be a new Stage 3, Stage 4, Stage 5, and 4 hidden realms that allow you to explore the Red Plane, as based on the Risk of Rain Returns concept art for the Red Plane. Each of these already have music, in an album coming out on August 14th.
- A Bunch of Miscellaneous Additions: Enemies, bosses, a final boss, elites, and artifacts, all detailed in the long list of images above.
Also, if you didn't read above, I made an album for this theoretical DLC, which will be out on streaming services everywhere this Friday, August 14th. You can also pre-order the album on Bandcamp if you'd like.
