Owning a home in Thailand

Owning a home in Thailand

I rented during my 7 years there and the only place that was owned by a Thai was a condo in Bangkok. All the houses in Hua Hin were owned by foreigners without a Thai wife, so I assume it was via the nominee scheme. The is a crackdown underway across Thailand on this and the authorities focus on the foreign "owners" not the local Thai's who sold the property, setup the nominee company, etc.
