looks like the formica fusca queens i have but different species, more black and smaller

hey yall i'm wondering if i should switch test tubes here or just stick it out and wait for the water to be empty, i bought these tiny test tubes in a pinch from hobby lobby since my actual size tubes were still in shipping, should i switch, the queens have already layed and im not sure, they've only been in the small tubes for a couple days

I know it's a queen but what species, i was thinking lasius something or other because of the size and shape, in my opinion shes too small to be camponotus sp. Caught in Santa Cruz California about a week ago
