Internet disconnects every 10-20 minutes for 30 seconds since they "upgraded" 2 weeks ago
Mediacom sent an email that during the "week of june 12" they were "upgrading" their network and we would experience a "brief outage" with "minimum downtime". On the 12th we lost internet from early in the day until 9 or 10pm, but the mediacom truck was across the street at our junction box or whatever fixing the issue so we didn't complain.
Since then we have internet but every 10-20 minutes it cuts out for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
the message for wifi/ethernet says "Connected, no internet"
We have soft+hard reset our modem probably 20 times hoping the problem would fix itself eventually. We even called but now Mediacom's customer service is AI which wouldn't understand the nuance of our situation and walked us through resetting the modem and determined we had internet (Yes, but it disconnects every 10 minutes!)
WIFI calling drops phone calls and texts don't go through
Stream services buffer/interrupt.
Online gaming is impossible.
ETC.
We have an XTREAM modem and it's all solid green power, white down, blue up, green @.
EERO wifi router
We were already thinking about switching to comcast which recently entered our area of MD because for YEARS they, without notice, would turn off the internet once a week (usually midnight) for obviously some sort of maintenance with same "Connected, no internet" status that is happening now and at first denied they were doing it but months later acted like it was normal routine maintenance. We have probably had 4-6 ISPs over the years in 4 different states along the east coast and none of them had noticable weekly scheduled downtime for years (granted it was usually only 2-5 minutes). Only Mediacom.
