How is this schedule for a CS/ECE student?

Hello! I'm an incoming freshman in Pratt planning to study CS/ECE. How is this first-semester schedule and does anyone have any suggestions/recommendations or things I should know?

I believe the only east campus class is White Lecture Hall (Math 218 in the mornings), so the commute should work out where I only have to go from East to West once both ways.

Thanks :)

Taking Practice OAs at Companies

Hey! Is it a huge deal to just make a random account to try a practice OA for a company (looking at Bank of America since everyone gets OAs)? I don't intend on actually applying/interviewing with them but I've never done an OA before and want to see what a real, professional one is like :)

Again, I'm not going to reapply again at all, just trying to get some real practice and see an actual OA in 2026 since I've never seen or done one. Thanks!

Duke Tech Culture

Hey y'all! I'm an incoming freshman here at Duke from NJ and I couldn't be more excited :)

I'm planning on double-majoring in CS/Math or potentially CS/ECE, but I had a few questions.

What’s the actual student culture like for tech at Duke? Is there a large community of genuine builders, hackathon nerds, and people who like to hack away on side projects, or does it lean more traditional/corporate? Oh, and if anyone is currently doing the CS/ECE double major, how brutal/difficult is the workload? Are the Duke tech clubs super great and interesting, or are they not really worth it?

Thanks so much for the help!

How are Duke CS/ECE majors doing with internships/jobs?

Hey guys! Incoming freshman here from NJ, super excited to head to Durham in the fall. I’m planning on double majoring in either CS/Math or CS/ECE, and I wanted to get a realistic perspective on the tech scene at Duke.

With the job market being as competitive as it is right now, how are current CS/ECE students actually faring with tech internships and jobs? If you’re putting in the work (grinding LeetCode, side projects, networking), are most people still landing great outcomes at FAANG, quant firms, AI labs, or deep tech/hardware spots? Or is it generally super difficult for everyone?

Looking forward to meeting you all! 😈

Pushing Graduation Date Up from 2030 to 2028

Hey everyone! Is it okay to push my graduation date up on my resume?

I am attending a top 10 university (not top 10 CS, think UPenn/Duke/UChicago/JHU/Northwestern) and am class of 2030. But I can graduate in 2.5 semesters (2028 December), which is my intended plan to save money and enter the workforce early.

Therefore, is it okay to put "Expected Graduation Date: 2028" or "2026 - 2028" for my education? My goal is to land a solid internship this upcoming season and also an RO. I may also choose to extend my graduation date if I don't land the best internship/return offer. Thanks so much :)
