How to fix oil pastel painting?

I’m a newbie to oil pastels and have a couple of doubts which I hope some of you may answer for me and give me some tips 😊

1- how do I fix the oil painting that when I touch the painting again it won’t smudge against my finger? And should I wait 2 days before fixing itv

2- is oil pastels better or soft pastels? I read somewhere that soft pastels are better as they don’t have wax?

Context - I’m doing mixed media with oil pastels so I’ll be using fabric with oils, so I can only use fabric once the oil pastels dry up COMPLETELY!

Please do drop any tips or techniques that might help me! 😊

Omg guys I’m not sure if you all already do this/know this but I was fostering a puppy and she was going through an extreme teething phase.. all my furniture, my chappal, everything was being bitten like crazy..she’s an indie pup & has lots of energy

Then I saw some YouTube video and basically took a cotton napkin, dipped it in water and made a roll of the napkin and put it in the freezer and gave it to her after 1-2 hours. It was hard at first so she fully enjoyed bitting it and tried to chew it, then I think the frozen ice on it numbed her teeth so she didn’t bite or chew anything for the next 1 hour which is a LONG time because she is biting everything every second😅😂

This really worked for me! So I thought I’ll share it.
