Another big away performance needed

Season 2029/30

Europa League Quarter finals vs Roma.

1st leg: L 1-2 (Popescu 57').

2nd leg: TBC.

We are still yet to win a home knockout tie in Europe, not the fortress id hope to create, but we do appear to be away day specialists.

Roma were much better than us on the night, (as the facts suggest) but again, we managed to keep the score close to set up an enthralling 2nd leg.

Birligea did have a half chance around the 78th minute to equalise, but the low driven shot was sent just past the post.

Group stages - only just managed to secure a play-off fixture to stay in the competition.

For context: during the early years of a save, if we qualify for Europe, i do sim the group stages (this is the only time i sim matches) i prefer to play every game. To my surprise, we managed the qualify the groups to set up a play-off knockout tie against Dutch side PSV Eindhoven.

This is the furthest we have got in the competition, hopefully we can make it to the last four with a win in the Italian capital.

Crosses, set pieces and a low block

Season 2029/30.

Europa league last 16 vs. Lille.

1st Leg: L 1-2 (Birligea 86' keeps the tie alive).

2nd leg: W 4-0 (Birligea x3, Popescu x1).

Yes, along with Olaru(32) they are carrying my team. Popescu has some good games but isnt as consistent as other Fifas.

I approached the game cautiously, i knew i could create one good chance to get the tie to 2-2, relying heavily on wing play with crosses and set pieces.

We took the lead on the night in the 39th minute through Birligea (dominant in the air) and went into half time 1-0 up.

The strangest part was the Lille reaction in the 2nd half, they was a shadow of the team that arrived in Bucharest a week ago, allowing me to play through the lines into Olaru who punishes any team that gives him space.

Off to Rome for the Quarter finals.

Vol 2. Rise of Los Guerreros

📖 The Lambertos Legacy | Vol. 2

Rise of Los Guerreros 🇦🇷

"Before Munich. Before Europe. Before the dynasty... there was Rosario."

When Diego Lambertos returned to Rosario Central, he wasn't interested in rebuilding the club with expensive transfers. His vision was simple: build a culture that valued youth, hard work and fearless football.

"Players don't make history. Cultures do."

Using a flexible 4-4-1-1, Rosario could patiently control possession or strike with devastating speed on the counter. It wasn't just about winning—it was about creating an identity.

The supporters gave this young side a name that would soon become feared across South America.

Los Guerreros.

⭐ The Faces of Los Guerreros

🇦🇷 Federico Lambertos (#10)

The pressure of carrying the Lambertos name never affected him.

After debuting at 19 wearing number 21, Federico inherited Rosario's famous number 10 shirt and the captain's armband just one season later.

Known as "The Prince of Rosario," his vision, composure and ability to decide the biggest matches made him the heartbeat of Diego Lambertos' side.

He wasn't the quickest, flashiest or most naturally gifted player on the pitch.

Vol 1. Meet the manager

Hi,

I am going to be doing a series of posts about my current career on FC26. During this career i have been keeping track of stats and using ChatGPT to world build. My current season on the game is in January 2031/32, so i already have a fair bit of data and stories to share at this point on teams and individuals.

In-game i play on ultimate authentic with adjusted sliders, i still find myself tweaking sliders to keep it realistic/challenging, i sometimes adjust sliders for big games like Leverkusen because they are so easy to beat on the counter, and my current squad (1860) play on quick transitions.

After season 3 i stopped buying regens as they are OP, now i have an established academy i can phase them out with the correct immersion. I tend to maintain a good spine of players from the same country im managing in, but also do scout other regions to mix it up. If there would be any requests on the next posts on what people would like to see then please ask.

I felt it would be right to begin with the manager, Diego Lambertos,

From Rosario, Argentina

Position: CB (left footed)

Played his whole career for Rosario Central and has some caps for Argentina

Captained the club from the age of 21

Became first team manager after a series of other roles within the club

Spent two seasons at Rosario before moving to 3. Liga side 1860 Munich

After leaving Rosario, Lambertos was offered the assistant coaching role at Athletico Madrid under Diego Simeone, after the meeting an agreement couldnt be made.

There was multiple offers for a manager role around Europe, one stood out, 1860 Munich. A club stuck in the lower leagues and living in the shadow of Bundesliga giant Bayern Munich. This reminded Lambertos of his time in Argentina, being a Rosario player and manager and having to battle with the colossal Argentinian clubs Boca juniors and River plate.
