Data issues
Hello all,
I am writing this post as a final cry for help as I have exhausted my options in attempting to fix my data connectivity issues. I have been a USM customer for over a year now and have generally had decent experience. Towers for all but Verizon can be spotty where I am but as a Unlimited starter warp user I had basically no problem maintaining a connection even in known poor reception spots. I did recently redeem the multi network addon trial in order to test dark star out in my area (about a month ago).
However, as of a few days ago (Thursday 2nd-ish) I noticed minor connectivity issues beginning to arise. In my main work room I can usually get around 35-50 Mbps average consistently with very low latency, but then could only get 3-5 Mbps. With every passing hour it seemed to grow slower and had significantly higher latency. I had to leave and noticed even outside in places I should be seeing improvement I was seeing data dropoffs and huge latency spikes. As of yesterday and today (4th&5th July) I seemingly cannot truly connect to any mobile data network. It sometimes appears as if I am connected though I rarely am and if I am able to run a test it never clears 2Mbps and has incredibly high latency. This was on every USM network except for Light Speed which 3 CS reps could not even get to work on my phone. Light speed would be the worst coverage by far for me so it's not really a solution anyway.
Working with customer support yesterday for over 10 hours yielded no results. We tried every single troubleshooting option available to no avail and CS finally escalated the case. The final recommendation was to wait until today to find out if there would be any sudden change/improvement. I will update if an amenable solution is provided as I have spotted a few other frustrated users on the forum that seem to be having the same issue and have not found any solution either. I realize that Unlimited starter is at lower priority during the 4th of July holiday influx of people but a "best-case" 1 Mbps with 5000ms plus latency is unusable and unacceptable regardless of congestion.
Hardware: Factory unlocked Pixel 10 updated to latest Android 17. No recent changes made to hardware or software outside of android security patch.
Plan/Network: Unlimited Starter on Warp for the first full year and since June Unlimited Starter on Warp and Dark Star (Dual E-sim)
What we tried: Toggling off and on all network and Sim settings, reinstalling E-sims, resetting network settings, swapping networks, moving physical locations while testing, remaining in a known good coverage area while testing, restarting phone, validating all hardware and software, etc.
As a final note I would like to say thank you for all the effort to the dozen plus CS reps who tried to help me yesterday and thank you in advance for any help provided.
