Revenge or Karma! You tell me

I have a story. 😂🤣

A few months ago, my neighbors sold their building, and some Europeans bought it and started a full rehab(reference for later) During construction, they cut down the fence between our properties, destroyed my string lights that were hanging on it, and even knocked off the lockbox from our back door. Annoying? Absolutely. But whatever—I replaced the lights, got a new lockbox, and moved on.

The rehab took about 7 months. They were loud at all hours, but hey, we live in a big city. It is what it is.

Then they finally moved in... and immediately decided that the perfect place for their garbage bins was right in front of my garage.

Every single night after working a 10-hour shift, I'd come home only to find their bins blocking my garage. I'd have to move them just so I could park. I asked them nicely for months to keep the bins on their side of the property, where they had plenty of room. Nope. Every night, same thing.

Then one evening, as I was moving the bins, a rat jumped out of one of them.

That was it.

I'm Latina... and we can get a little spicy. 🌶️😂

From that day on, every time I came home and found their bins on my side, I'd give them a good kick and send them rolling right back in front of their garage. Funny enough... it worked for a couple of weeks.

Then they started putting them back.

I left them a note. I talked to them again. Still nothing.

One morning, while I was leaving for work, one of the younger guys blocked my car and started screaming at me because I kept kicking their trash bins. (He screamed at me like treating me)

So I got out of my car and calmly explained that they were putting their garbage on my property, and as long as they kept doing it, I'd keep returning it—with a little extra momentum.

Turns out... he genuinely thought that side belonged to them.

He looked confused, yelled some more, and I just drove off.

Instead of arguing, I called the city's 311 line and filed a complaint.

Now here's the funny part...

Apparently, while I was complaining about the garbage bins, the city noticed something else.

My lovely neighbors had built a little rooftop deck on top of their garage... without the proper permits.

About a month later, I got a letter saying the city couldn't do anything about where they placed the garbage bins.

But strangely...

That cute little rooftop deck disappeared at exactly the same time. 😂

Looks like the city made them tear it down.

And ever since then?

The garbage bins have magically stayed on their side of the property.

Sometimes karma works through the city's building inspector. 😆
