I haven't properly played a new NBA game for almost a decade now. All of my favorites got old and started retiring so I stopped playing and paying attention to the league and really shifted to WWE.

However, with as stale as the series has gotten, my fiance recommended I try NBA 2K again so I got 2K26 for pretty cheap a few weeks ago. It is the best sports game experience I have had in a long time. Now I know the ones who play the NBA games may say it's stale because they play it every year, same reason I am because I play WWE every year.

I don't really know how to describe it, but it feels like there's more life to MyNBA in comparison to Universe. I guess it is the little things and how you can be god if you wanted to, but you can also put restrictions on yourself as well.

For example, in MyNBA if you want to play as 1 team then you can or if you want to be the entire league then you can. The league continues on around what you do rather than nothing happening unless you do it.

In Universe, if you aren't involved in it then nothing happens. No rivalries, no alliances, tag teams, or anything is generated. Yeah you can turn that stuff on and simulate, but come draft time you don't want to draft some random ai generated team of Shinsuke Nakamura and Otis.

I think my biggest gripe is that I can't control Raw or SmackDown and let the ai deal with the other shows and then we come together at whatever PLE. Like wth NBA, I know the Celtics are going to continue on and be a team, they may try to trade or someone may get injured, but the roster won't devolve into this convoluted mess if I don't have my hand in every cookie jar.

Also, there is more life given to the players in comparison to the wrestlers. In MyNBA, it actually feels like you are managing a team because the players have goals, aspirations, and progression for the future. While in Universe, they are glorified action figures.

Right now I am playing in the Bulls Era as the Chicago Bulls. We won the 1992 championship, I somehow traded for the first pick and drafted Shaq, I traded earlier in the year and got Rodman. Horace Grant is now behind Rodman and Shaq is my starting Center. Grant's mood has changed and now he refuses to re-sign with me. His loyalty has somehow changed to unloyal and he is going to test free agency.

I pissed off one of my players by basically replacing him, WWE could never. They should really just combine my GM and Universe at this point.

You can now cash in money in the bank during a double title match. I had Naomi as United States champion and she won Queen of the Ring. So at SummerSlam, I had a champion versus champion match between Naomi and Chelsea Green who was women's world champion. Rhea Ripley was Ms money in the bank, and I had her do a mid-match cash in during the match.

At the end of the match, Rhea was only given one title, but the news and the roster showed her as double champion. Really cool if you ask me.

Anyone else hate that we have to wait until June for Season 3? I honestly wish they had not given us the free 20 levels this season because I hit tier 40 like 3 days after it dropped. Plus, while I have given K2 a small IC title run, I have zero use for Demolition so Season 2 did not hit as hard as Season 1 did. As a longtime broski I cannot wait to get Matt Cardona and La Parka will fit in perfect for my NXT X AAA: Worlds Collide weekly show. Sucks we get absolutely nothing in May.
