App Store requires password every time
It’s an iPhone 16 pro max, with 26 update. Everything worked fine before the update
Now if I try to download an app it requires a password every time, with no option for Face ID, no stored passwords. Just input password every time, it also doesn’t recognise the password as entered either. So I other the password and I’ve checked it’s correct, and it blanks it out and goes right back to asking for the password
So far I’ve checked
Media and purchase. No mention of Face ID so I believe this means that it is enabled
Screen time is turned off, it was never enabled
Tried adding touch assist and that didn’t work, it says, you have enabled touch assist then doesn’t recognise the input
Elsewhere if you tap on the password input screen there’s a pop up for autocomplete and that doesn’t happen in the App Store
In Face ID and Passcode section Face ID is enabled for purchases and App Store
In App Store password is switched off for free apps
I’ve tried turning Face ID off and on again
I’ve tried restarting the phone
I’ve tried signing out
Still needs a password every time and still not accepting touch assist or the actual password.
Any ideas?
