Anal Fissure along with seton

Hi everyone.

I been lurking in the group since February when I gotten my surgery to drain a perirectal horseshoe abscess. I was told I have a complex fistula that's a transsphincteric fistula. My Seton though enters and exit pretty much the center of my body through the anus and directly above it.

Yesterday I finally got to see a colorectal surgeon about my current condition and symptoms and found out I had a anal fissure and this is what probably caused the abscess in the first place.

I'm just excited to know why I still been in pain 16bweeks later after surgery. Has anybody else ran into the problem of having a fissure but didn't know what it was? It's been painful experience and I finally get the ointment I need to heal the fissure Tuesday.
