Failed a random drug test for something I don’t use
I got pulled into the office at work for a random mouth swab drug screening today and failed for amphetamines and THC. Per protocol I’m suspended pending investigation.
Now I’ll openly admit to THC but I never go to work high or get high during work, that’s not what I’m worried about. I don’t know how amphetamines came up because I don’t do anything besides smoke products from a dispensary. I have no prescriptions, I don’t take any supplements. They’re sending it off for verification and all that, potentially receiving results on Wednesday. After leaving work I took a urine analysis which only showed positive for THC but my anxiety is killing me.
I recently got an apartment with my pregnant girlfriend who, due to some health problems, hasn’t been able to work so I’m the sole income. If I lose my job over this I don’t know what we’d do. I don’t make large amounts of money but it is higher than average for my area and I’ve been there for six years so starting somewhere else is looking like a $5 an hour pay cut. Do I trust the process and hope it was some fluke with their test or should I start trying to find another job?
