IFC I Wright Patt Waivers
In April I was selected for a guard pilot position (yay!) however no time to celebrate since now I have to look forward to the flight physical at wright patt. I'm so nervous. It seems like every issue I think I have is waiverable, but it also seems like most things are unless they're really bad. The things I think I will need waivers for: a brief stint on meds for mental health back in 2018. I didn't have anything wrong with me other than my husband dying... so I'd say it was reasonable! None of them worked so I went off of them and haven't had any issues since (other than my husband still being dead, rude). Then the other thing I'm concerned about, I had an allergic reaction to "unknown" in 2020. I just got puffy, but never anaphylactic. The Air Force Waiver Guide is very helpful, but with this one it seems wishy washy if its waiverable. I've never had another allergic reaction, and the guide says that "severe allergic reactions" are disqualifying. Well, without anaphylaxis I'd say I didn't quite hit the severe threshold. I even met with an allergist and she said it was probs a fluke (not Angioedema, confirmed). I know the answer is to just wait until the physical, but that's so far away! So naturally, reddit.
For background, not that it matters, I have a first class faa medical, and all my ratings. So it would be SO awkward if I got DQ'd, which i'd imagine would have implications on the civilian side, adding to my anxiety (not clinical)
