How to cancel interjurisidictional child support.
Has anyone successfully cancelled or reduced an old child support order that was originally opened through public support?
The situation has changed a lot since the order was made. There is now another child support order involving a different parent, the child is well provided for, and the household circumstances are very different. The paying parent may also now live in another U.S. state and has another child to support.
A request for review has already been submitted, but I’m wondering what other steps may be available. Would I need to contact the other state’s child support agency directly, or does the Canadian/provincial program handle that?
Not looking for judgment — just practical information from anyone who has dealt with interjurisdictional child support changes.
