Greetings all,

I've recently had to take time off running, I have shin splints and I'm looking at probably a month off the road. I've taken to hitting the exercise bike to keep up my cardio. I used to be able to run a sub-22 5k, and I'd like to continue working to get back to that level of fitness. Can I continue to make gains without pounding out the miles running, or am I just looking at maintaining my current level until I heal up?
