I had never once tried playing a mage style character before since I thought them to be to complex/uninteresting. Semi-recently played skyrim (anniversary edition) as a mage and more recently cyberpunk 2077 as a netrunner.

I say "mage-like" since it doesnt need to be magic, but along that theme. Netrunners in cyberpunk felt pretty similar to how a mage was played in skyrim even though it technically isnt a "mage".

I'm not looking for a very in depth game with complicated magic; but somewhat similar to those two games as both of them were drastically better than a bow/sword build or any kind of gun first build.
