109 cloves of garlic settled in for a long winter’s nap

Zone 6B, Southern Ontario.

Selected the biggest cloves from this year’s harvest.
I added some compost, sheep manure and chicken pellets to the soil.
Poked the garlic down, covered with soil then covered with straw.
I also did a makeshift cover in an attempt to keep my cat and other critters out.
Gave it all a good watering, and now, we wait 👀

Who is my new friend (Southern Ontario, Canada)

Any suggestions as to what kind of spider this is? It’s about the size of a nickel.

Split king vs two twins

Our current, single mattress king bed is broken, so we're looking around at options. Right now, we sleep separately, and I've discovered that I am a better solo sleeper. The dogs prefer to sleep with me, but my husband wants in on the cuddle action and he's pushing for split king, whereas I would much prefer two singles. Can the split kings be pushed apart so that I don't have to have my space invaded by him? It's not that i hate him, I just don't enjoy being kicked and pushed to the edge, or just having my space invaded in general. I'm also in the hot-flash phase of menopause and don't need someone heating things up further.

Please help identify this critter

Initially, I thought it was a carpet beetle, but bugguide.net thinks it’s a Seed Beetle (stator subaeneus). Can anyone confirm if it is one of these, or perhaps something else? I’ve found (and killed) at least a dozen in the past couple of weeks that made it into my home. Just want to know if it’s something more nefarious and if I should just burn the house down 😅 I’m in Southern Ontario if that helps.
