Car in a bad location or live in a better location?
Hi,
I currently live near DTLA and the area is pretty bad. I’m considering moving a bit more west, however, the rent is insane.
My take home is 5.8k a month, however, after paying my EMI, it’s 4.5k.
My job is fully remote.
I have 2 options, I’m not sure which one to go with.
Move to the west side in a studio for up to 2.5k rent (maybe Culver?). Open to suggestions.
Stay where I am (priv bedroom in a 2b2b) and finance a car. Total expense = rent (1.7k) + car payments (~800 including insurance)
Since I wfh, I spend most of my time home, I do go out 2-3 times a week. But would love the freedom of being able to move around that a car offers. Thoughts? I’m open to other options and suggestions
