Travel suggestions - older parents with limited mobility visiting in October
Hi all! My parents are planning to visit me in October for 10-14 days, and I could use help in coming up with ideas/an itinerary.
They are in their 70s, and while they love traveling and have energy, they have bad knees and aren't able to climb many stairs or hike. My mom will probably like small villages, shopping, and museums, and my dad wants to see the trains and alps (he likes geology). They both like history museums & learning about local culture and foods.
I'm based in Zurich, so I am planning to spend a couple of days here showing them around and take day trips from here. But I am also open to us staying in another part of the country over night or going to nearby areas of France/German/Austria.
What I am not looking for: hiking trails, skiing, expensive resorts
