Should I take the offer?
I'm currently working remotely in a corporate job but honestly hate it. I've decided to pivot into the medical field and will be starting a program next winter.
Costco reached out and said I can start in a couple weeks with an onboarding package coming soon.
The role will be permanent Im assuming. They weren't really clear lol.
Before I commit I'm trying to figure out a few things. Do Costcos hire to fire like other retailers during peak season? I know some places bulk hire and quietly let people go after the rush and I don't want to leave my current job only to get dropped a few months in.
I'm also wondering if part time permanent with benefits is actually guaranteed after probation. They already know I'll be in school next year and I'm worried they'll use probation as an easy out once peak season wraps up.
The other thing is whether they're flexible with student schedules. I don't want it to be a constant fight every time I need to adjust my availability.
My main dilemma is whether I should just keep my remote job for now and pass on the offer. Stability matters but so does having something that actually works around school. Would love to hear from any Costco Canada employees or anyone who's been in a similar situatio
