The Horrorist Continuity…from Hellblazer #100.
10 days ago someone asked about The Horrorist and reading #100 today there’s oddly the specific explanation of where it sits amongst Hellblazer.

And that’s it for me and Early Image. What a wonderful walk down memory lane it’s been and as always a HUGE thank you to everyone in the community for helping me out on so much that I was absolutely clueless about.
Anyway…out of everything I reread, chanced upon and have been recommended I will say that Shadowhawk stands out for me. What can I say? I like ruthless vigilante violence in comic books.
I do love random stuff like Image Plus as it’s such a time capsule and window to a long lost time. Not a comic per say but it reminds me more of teen pop music magazines of the early 90s where the stars give comical answers to mundane questions, some decent advice to wannabe creators and an all round fun read from the dollar bins.
Big win for the caricatures of the each of the creators by J Scott Campbell as well.
As I slowly crawl towards the end of my time revisiting Early Image…Foil cover galore with, one of my Early Image favorites, Jae Lee going hard on a yet another title and story I have absolutely no understanding of in the slightest bit. About six months ago or so one of our beloved community members posted a whole series on WildCats (thanks as always, Fred) so I apologize for the repost but I wanted to draw attention to how both Fairchild and myself have the exact same physique…completely inhuman and confusing.
(title is my homage to REM’s Shiny Happy People)
I managed to get a copy of #2 (Cover A as well) today which was awesome. I didn’t see the Stephen Platt cover but the Steve Rude was very tempting. Only qualm so far is I wish they printed the covers on cardstock.
Hopefully everyone gets the ones they want tomorrow and the story continues being great.
Back to what is probably my last batch of Early Image…I returned to Prophet for the first time since 1994. I remember adoring Stephen Platt back then as it was truly unlike anything else so it’s been nice to see it again. Theres so much going on in each page.
A print I forgot I had. Signed by the magnificent and very lovely Bill Reinhold. Now, the big thing is…I’m not sure I’ll ever get this framed and I don’t want it going to waste. Any idea on what to do with it?
To show support for the phenomenal Swamp Thing #88 that has finally seen the light of day this week…I thought I’d post my absolute favorite issue of Swamp Thing.
I won’t go into detail as this issue has been discussed in academic circles but I simply cannot recommend it and the whole series enough. Hopefully with the New/Old stuff being published we’ll see more folks enjoy it.

For all Swamp Thing fans. It’s finally here…Rick Veitch’s #88 finally sees the light of day. The issue includes the original sketch for the proposed cover and an extended essay from Steven Bissette, that takes homage from Swamp Things Letters Section, that provides an in depth behind the scenes at DC at the time.

An awful start to the week with such horribly sad news. Another absolute powerhouse of comics has sadly passed away. Thank you for so much, Gerry.
